These Sweet Slippers

These years go so fast! These years are hard, stressful and patience filled. Most days I feel like I’ve failed them. I feel like I haven’t tried as hard as I could. To be honest I’m exhausted, touched out and running on coffee.

These sweet slippers are the feet of my last born. My only girl. My “Goose, Goose”. They are the feet of my 3 year old. Sassy, brave and fiercely independent. She is tough (and rough) as nails until she needs a kiss from her mamma. She is the singer of silly, creative made up melodies. Dancing and twirling never get old. She strongly believes in her dancing shirt” and “dancing coat.” Once they are on, her skills get more serious and she enters a zone of creativity. Lord, let her stay little.

In the barn, she is the best cowgirl helper. Always our shadow. The love for her animals is real, continuing to show she is a helper and protector. Anywhere her daddy is, is a place she strongly desires to be.

Standing her ground and tackling her brothers is a daily occurrence. She is braive, strong and positively relentless. Always asking “where are my boys?!”

Through out the day I tell her “I love you goosey.” She passionately yells “NO, I “yove” Dadddyyy. This continues when I once again say, “ I love you,” and she repeats (yelling) “NO, Iiiiiiii yove Daddy.” It is only until bed time when daddy first reads, prays and tucks her in, that she wants me. She needs me to read and pray with her also. It’s then that I finally hear those cherished words, “I Yove You, See you in the morning time, see you when it’s dark out, okay bye.” Every night.

She’s my baby,
My only girl,
My last born
My “doer of the dishes,”
Helper in the kitchen
Biggest dreamer

Daddy’s Shadow
My true cowgirl.
