Here at Myrvik Lamb & Cattle Co. we humanely and ethically raise our animals. We try to make them as happy and healthy as can be. Our lambs are hair sheep, they grow a winter coat and then shed it in the spring. It is not a wool coat so that means we don’t have to shear them. More importantly there is not the lanolin or gamey flavor other wool breeds can have in the meat. We treat all of them with care and respect and make our management decisions based on what’s best for their wellbeing. That means we will treat them with the correct medicines to fight pneumonia or other illnesses but we don’t use any implants or growth hormones.
We are expanding our ability to feed more green grass. We are increasing our pasture land with the intent to utilize more green grass during the months we have it. Our goal is to raise these lambs in a happy healthy environment, feed them excellent quality feed, and grow them with top notch genetics.
