Morning Duties Call..
Last week, Lance had to be somewhere, leaving the kids and I to do a few of the must do morning chores for all the animals! It was a beautiful morning, after so many sub zero freezing days! The kids were excited to help!
Before Lance left, he discussed with our oldest (8) the jobs he needed done. He told our daughter (3) her “jobs” and gave our middle son (5) some direction as well. We are a team, TOGETHER we make this ranch life work. We all need each other and the help we each offer is a huge asset to this ranch life.
We have acquired a bottle lamb out of the triplets born a few weeks ago! She’s the smallest of her siblings and just needed a little more love. I can safely say she now knows what the bottle is and possibly even her name, “Sky.” Our 3 year old daughter lovingly named her!
Our oldest gathered the feed ration in our feed room for the two mamma ewes with their lambs. Our daughter and I feed Sky her bottle and our middle son checked on the rest of the sheep and cattle.
We got back in the house and I told the kids I was so proud of them. Our job this morning got done well because of all four of us (5 with daddy) together playing a part. I continued to tell them thank you and great job helping out. We were a team. It ended with a fist pump and many smiles from all.
